Connection and joy

Companion care for seniors in Seattle

A good day is about more than getting tasks done. It is conversation over coffee, a game at the kitchen table, and something to look forward to.

Companion care from Snuggs & Huggs Senior Services brings meaningful activities, recreation, companionship, and cognitive engagement into your loved one's routine at home, for families across Greater Seattle.

Why companionship matters

Many older adults spend long stretches of the day alone — especially after losing a spouse, giving up driving, or moving less easily than they used to. Loneliness can quietly wear down mood, appetite, and motivation.

Regular, familiar company gives the day shape: someone to talk with, something to look forward to, and a reason to stay engaged.

Activities built around your loved one

Companion care starts with who your loved one is. The two-hour family consultation covers routines, interests, and personality, so activities feel like theirs — whether that is word games at the kitchen table, favorite music, looking through old photos, or simply good conversation.

More engagement as needs grow

Standard Care includes recreation and companionship as part of daily support. Premium Care adds a structured activity and engagement program, transportation, and continuity with trained caregivers, so your loved one gets to know the people who visit. All-Inclusive Care adds customized cognitive activities and personalized recreational activities.

Share the good moments

With Premium and All-Inclusive Care, families receive daily digital updates and a care journal with photos — so you can see the good moments even when you cannot be there in person.

A thoughtful match, never a rushed placement.

Here's how care starts. Each step makes room for your loved one's preferences and your family's feedback before anything is settled.

  1. A caregiver reviewing care paperwork with three generations of a family around a table

    Step 1

    Family consultation

We begin with a focused two-hour conversation about routines, needs, personality, and priorities.

  2. A caregiver and a senior man shaking hands as they meet for the first time

    Step 2

    Caregiver introductions

Meet two to three caregiver options so your family can make a comfortable, informed choice.

  3. A caregiver noting a senior woman's check-in details on a tablet in her living room

    Step 3

    Monitored trial

A 7–14 day trial includes daily check-ins and overnight monitoring when arranged.

  4. A senior woman and her caregiver laughing together while updating a care journal

    Step 4

    Refine the plan

We listen to feedback and adjust the care arrangement until it feels right for your loved one.

Each step is also offered as a premium add-on for an even smoother transition into care, and all of them come included with All-Inclusive Care. Ask about them during your free consultation.

Common questions

Companion care: questions families ask

What is the difference between companion care and personal care?

Companion care focuses on company, activities, and engagement. Personal care covers hands-on help with bathing, dressing, hygiene, and toileting. Many families use both, and every Snuggs & Huggs care plan includes personal care, everyday routines, and recreation.

Can companion care help someone with memory loss?

Yes. For people living with dementia, engagement and familiar routines matter a great deal. Premium and All-Inclusive Care include dementia and memory care support and an activity and engagement program, and All-Inclusive adds customized cognitive activities.

Can a caregiver take my parent out to activities?

Transportation is included in Premium and All-Inclusive Care. Tell us about the outings your loved one enjoys during the free consultation, and they can be discussed as part of the care plan.
